Navosa Women Progress

The Navosa women’s rugby team has made a positive breakthrough in rugby.

The team’s victory 27-17 victory over Nanukuloa in the Royal Tea Ranadi Cup quarterfinal at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, last Saturday, provided them the added motivation to go further.

Now, the team is focused on their next opponents, Nasinu, as they prepare for the semifinal tomorrow at Lawaqa Park.

Manager Paulina Ratuwara acknowledged the support from the union, fans, and their families in Navosa.

“Firstly, we thank God – without Him the victory would not have been possible,” Ratuwara said.

“To the union and our supporters, we thank you; your support has always boosted the girls’ performance. This is a milestone achievement for Navosa women. It is our first time to qualify for the quarters and now into the semis. We definitely want to win against Nasinu, they are a good team. We have advised our girls to read every aspect of the game well and play like they are playing in the final.”

Meanwhile, the second semifinal is between Rewa and Vatukoula at 2pm. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12 years old.
