The Ilai Derenalagi coached Jacks Nadi side have been working on their forwards as they prepare against Namosi in this week’s Skipper Cup clash at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

Nadi rugby assistant coach Cohan Politini said: “We need to work on our scrums as they (Namosi) have a bigger set of forwards.”

“We need to work consistency playing our own game and not adapting to the opposition’s game like we did against Nadroga.”

He said their 20-19 loss to Nadroga in the Inkk Farebrother was a bitter pill to swallow.

“It is disappointing to lose to Nadroga. In the first half we let in too much. That’s one issue that we’ve always had. If you look, the rest of our results are consistent in the way we play.

“You know if we can, we always throw a first half team and on Saturday we came back in the second half. But the thing is to win big games like the Farebrother or for that matter you need to be consistent for 80 minutes.”

Politini thanked Nadi rugby fans for coming out in numbers and hope they turn up again in big numbers tomorrow.

“We always appreciate the support. We are grateful to them. Sorry that we couldn’t get the result last weekend but we’ve still got another match.”

Nadi host Namosi at 3pm, Northland host Suva at Gatward Park, Korovou, Nadroga host Rewa for the Inkk Farebrother Challenge while Naitasiri face Tailevu.
