Ba Sparks Threat

The Ba football team has closed in on Glamada Rewa and Rams Cleaning Services Suva on the Digicel Premier League points table.

This was after the Imdad Ali-coached Ba side walloped Suva 3-0 in their DPL clash at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, yesterday.

This was Suva’s first loss in the competition. Ba led 1-0 at halftime after a goal from the lanky striker Saula Waqa.

The visitors sealed the win with goals from Eto Dogalau and Manasa Nawaikula.

However, the Capital City side still leads the points table with 24 points followed by Rewa with 23 while Ba is in third place with 22.

Rewa missed their chance of getting the top spot as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Labasa.

At Pacific Harbour in Deuba, Lautoka was denied three points by a gallant Navua side who fought back from a 1-0 deficit to hold them to a 1-1 draw.

Lautoka took the lead in the 10th minute when defender Kolinio Sivoki from a freekick placed the ball to the back of the net as they led 1-0 at halftime.

Backed by their vocal fans Navua upped the tempo and scored the equaliser in the penalty spot. The Blues are now in fourth spot with 18 points.

They are followed by Nadi with 17 points after their 1-1 draw against Nadroga at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

Nasinu and Tailevu/Naitasiri remained at the bottom of the points table after they played to a 0-0 draw.

Results: Tailevu/Naitasiri 0-0 Nasinu, Suva 0-3 Ba, Navua 1-1 Lautoka, Rewa 0-0 Labasa, Nadroga 1-1 Nadi
