Tomasi Tuivuna is top favourite to claim the Lautoka Pro-Am at the Lautoka Golf Link in two weeks.

Top professional golfers are expected to converge for the $6900 prize-purse.

Fiji Professional Golfers Association secretary Am­itesh Chandra said that the next stop for the FPGA is Lautoka.

“The upcoming event on the PGA calendar is the pro-am in Lautoka; it is organised by another ardent sup­porter of Fiji PGA Raymond Singh,” Chandra said.

“The cash purse has been topped up to $6900 for the18-holes event,” he said.

This weekend the Neritak Equipment Limited & Long Run Fiji sponsored Club Championship will be held at the Denarau Championship golf course.

The two-day round one club championships tees-off at 9am.

The format is a 36-hole stroke play event. The best gross score after 36 holes in each grade will be crowned the club champion,” he said.

Meanwhile, Team Magic Breakers took out the Late Reverend John Sayaham memorial sponsored 4-men Ambrose 2022 at the Ba Golf Club at Rarawai on Sun­day.

The team made up of Asish Chand, Anaya Saani, Daman Chen, Prakrit Naidu shot 11 under to claim a back to back win.

Placed second was Team 4-Brothers (Vinesh Prasad, Rajnesh Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Prashant Sharma) who all shot 9 under.

Team Fiji Gold (Brendan Daniel, Rajen Singh, Shiv­neel Ram, Joshua Manuca) shot 7 under to finish in third spot.

Sahayam has promised to make this tournament an annual event.

Other prizes: Longest Drive – Rohit Chandra, NTP – Rajen Singh, Best Dressed – Pundit Sunil Sharma, Most improved newcomer – Rajnesh Sharma.

Furthermore, the club will host the Romans Uniform & Designs Ltd sponsored 4-man ambrose tournament on Sunday. Registration: 1 am, Tee-off: 11.30am – Strict­ly no late entries.

Entry Fee: $20 per player or $80 per team. Event For­mat: A Team of 4 (maximum of 3 golfers per team only + 1 newcomer).
