It’s time Vodafone Flying Fijians head coach Vern Cotter have a heart-to-heart talk with the players of where the team needs to be come next year’s Rugby World Cup.

This was the gist of Crusaders head coach Scott Robertson’s message during an interview with SUNsports after the Flying Fijians 32-18 loss to Australia A in the Pacific Nations Cup.

“He (Vern Cotter) needs to talk to the boys, that’s the main thing,” he said.

Robertson also indicated that he had spoken to Cotter that the Flying Fijians need to up their game against Manu Samoa, on Saturday.

The no-nonsense coach visited the Flying Fijians camp and spoke to the management team on what transpired in their humiliating defeat.

“I’ve spoken to Vern and the coaching staff and kicking was not sufficient and they need to get better,” Robertson said.

Meanwhile, first five eight Teti Tela and flanker Mesulame Kunavula are in doubt for the Samoa clash.

Kunavula was replaced in the 30th minute while Tela who had an off day with his boots didn’t play in the second half.

This could be an opportunity for nippy utility back Simione Kuruvoli to be tested at No.10 with Vilimoni Botitu at second five eight and Apisalome Vota at centre.

Cotter, in an earlier interview, indicated that Botia was on standby as a backrow if there are injuries or card issues.

He could slot in at No.6 while Rusiate Nasove mans the openside flanker and Albert Tuisue at No.8.
