Oliver Simon Dyer says with God, nothing is impossible. He confidently gave praises to God after winning the Mr Duavata Northern Crime Prevention Carnival title at Subrail Park in Labasa on Saturday night.

The 17 year-old who hails from Kadavu Province said by God’s grace he boldly overcame all challenges during the week-long carnival.

The Labasa College Year 12 student recalled that while he was waiting for his cousin, at the rehearsal, he was approached by a committee member to participate.

“My parents are separated and I am living with my father, an employee of Valebasoga Tropik Board Limited and during the holiday I spend time with mum,” Oliver said.

“Despite this family difference, I study hard because I want to become a pilot.”

The second of three siblings said everyone in this world had challenges to face in life.

“The only difference is those who call upon the Lord and believe in him, nothing is impossible,” he said.

“I would like to thank my father for being my inspiration and my sponsor for the support.”

The first runner up was Mr Bayly Trust Shahil Shandil.
