Fiji is a progressive market and indicators suggest things are getting back to the way they were.

BSP Group chairman Sir Kostas Constantinou made those comments during the welcome party for their Group Board of Directors and Senior Executive at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on Denarau on Monday night.

Their last visit to Fiji was in 2016.

Mr Constantinou said they have made it their focus to assist business operations during the pandemic.

“Fiji is a progressive market and things are getting back to the way they were. BSP has a significant presence here, across our banking finance and life insurance business,” he said.

“BSP is progressing, we are saying and we’re consolidating our position as a Pacific leading bank. We are Fiji’s number one bank. We are very proud of that accomplishment across our Banking Finance life and health insurance business.”

“We have a significant role to play on the road to full recovery and the advancement of Fiji’s economy.

“We are here to partner in the future of Fiji and growth. Our board has changed over the years but we have been consistently working to make space really different and better than any other bank in itself. We value our customers, our staff and our communities where we are.”

“There was a time of working together and I want to thank you all for your loyalty in these tough times,” he said.

“This is a great opportunity for us to meet with you and to better understand the Fiji market,” Mr Constantinou said.

Mr Constantinou was grateful for all their support rendered during the difficult period.

Group Chief Executive Officer Robin Fleming said a lot of changes have taken place in the past six years.

He also acknowledge that the board and senior management was female focused with more diversity. “To be able to rebound from COVID not just from that profitability perspective but again, being able to engage and re-employ staff, being able to welcome tourists back now to ensure that we’re contributing to that economic growth,” he said.

The group visited BSP properties in the west, including Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa and Rooster Poultry T/A Future Farms in Ba. They also handed over a newly renovated Nawaicoba Health Centre in Nadi.
