Leptospirosis Cases A Worry

Three cases of leptospirosis have recently been reported in the Northern Division.

All these cases were from a span of a week.

Leptospirosis cases in the Western and Central Divisions remain above the outbreak threshold.

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services reported on Monday that the increase has been consistent this year without any sign of a decrease in its tracking.

“Nationally, admissions and death due to leptospirosis continue on a downward trend,” read the report.

It was also reported that typhoid cases remained below the outbreak and alert thresholds.

Additionally, dengue cases also remained below outbreak and alert thresholds.
