Partnership Will Promote Outsourcing Services
This partnership will see MDF initially work with DHL Express Fiji to develop a new marketing strategy to raise awareness of cur- rent OS projects and identify new OS opportunities.

DHL Express launched a new partnership in Fiji with Market Development Facility (MDF), an Australian government-funded initiative, to promote DHL’s outsourcing services to other DHL Express entities.

These outsourcing services (OS) include data entry and data cleansing, commercial and reporting, duty collections, and customer- centric IT solutions, to name a few.

This partnership will see MDF initially work with DHL Express Fiji to develop a new marketing strategy to raise awareness of current OS projects and identify new OS opportunities.

MDF will co-invest and support DHL in organizing a virtual symposium to attract new functions and clients and facilitate staff acquisition to cater to the increased demand for services.

MDF will also provide recommendations to help improve DHL’s carbon footprint at the new office.

Sarvesh Devan, country manager for Fiji, DHL Express, said: “Fiji boasts an attractive offer for out- sourcing services due to our proximity to nearshore markets like Australia and New Zealand, good infrastructure and connectivity, and naturally, our friendly ‘Bula’ spirit.”

“Right now, we employ 110 employees in our OS division, and we are confident that we can capture more of the OS demanded by other DHL offices worldwide. We are grateful to have MDF’s support to market and create greater visibility of the quality of the out- sourcing services we have and can provide to our global network,” continued Devan.

DHL Express started operations in Fiji in 1976, primarily as a logistics and courier provider.

Since 2005, it has expanded to offer outsourcing services (OS).

The OS division has grown steadily – even through the height of the Covid-19 pandemic – with the potential to further expand its offerings to other DHL entities in over 220 countries and territories.

During the pandemic, when many other traditional outsourcing countries were adversely affected, OS providers like DHL Express Fiji could continue operations with zero shutdowns.

The company is now looking to build on the success and resilience of its local OS operations to better support DHL globally.

Fiji’s OS industry has grown significantly in a relatively short period and currently employs 4,000 Fijians.
