S. Nagindas will open its multi-million dollar shop at Damodar City, Labasa complex next year. Damodar Group Chief Executive Officer Div Damodar said S.Nagindas made a huge investment not only in Labasa but in Fiji.

He said the first phase of the Damodar City Labasa centre was scheduled to open at the end of this year.

The S. Nagindas shop is in the second phase of the development, which is set to open by mid-2023.

S. Nagindas general manager Amit Khatri said the 745sqm ground floor shop will be one of the largest shops at the new Damodar City Labasa shopping centre.

He said the investment was a great opportunity for the people of Labasa and it would provide up to 30 jobs.

“S. Nagindas have a total of nine shops Fiji wide but it has always been a dream to open a shop in Vanua Levu, after successfully opening a branch in Savusavu in May 2020,” Mr Khatri said.

“We have always been looking for a good location and a big space for our source to put all the range of clothing for both men and women, products and creating innovative visual merchandising within the stores.”

“A smaller outlet will be opened soon in the main street in Labasa because the demand from customers has been very high.”

“The renovations for the small outlet is around $50-$60,000 and will employ 12 people.”

Damodar City Labasa’s manager projects for development and leasing, Cornelia Smith said the investment by S.Nagindas in Vanua Levu demonstrated its strong confidence in the northern market and a strong business that continued to innovate and transform even during the challenging economic times.

“We are very pleased to welcome them to Damodar City Labasa and we definitely see this as a first of many more projects we want to have with S.Nagindas as a partner and stakeholder,”Ms Smith said.
