Taliga At No.15

Three players of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua side will play in today’s Skipper Fiji Rugby Championship semi-final at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
The Jack’s Nadi side has named Kitione Taliga at fullback while Ram Sami Suva has Sorovakatini Tuifagalele at lock, and Leone Nawai starting at halfback.
Nadi team manager Epeli Qoro said yesterday that Taliga had been training with the team and featured in the final round against Tailevu.
Qoro indicated that head coach, Ilai Derenalagi, had put together a game plan on how they were going to tackle the bigger Suva forwards.
“Suva will be the team to beat. They are known for their heavy pack who keep the game tight,” he said of the defending Skipper champions.
“After a lapse of six years, we’ve finally made it to the Skipper semi-final once again. But we have not progressed beyond that so this is our chance. This is our time!
“We played Suva twice this season and no doubt we can dominate the game. To our fans out there, do not miss the biggest game of the season yet.
“We call on our Nadi supporters to come out in numbers to watch this semi-final.”
The match will be controlled by Aisake Drekeni, assisted by Usaia Bainivalu and Aporosa Lare.
The Under-19 semi-final between Nadi and Nadroga gets underway at 12pm followed by the Development semi-final clash at 4pm, where Nadi takes on Namosi.
