Former Trainer, Boxer Join Forces To Promote

A world class boxing trainer who has guided boxers to win world titles has teamed up with one of our former amateur boxing champion to get their promoting license.
Boxing Commission of Fiji chairman Subhash Appana confirmed to SUNsports yesterday a promoter’s license has been issued to Lewis-Hill Boxing Promotions.
The promoters are veteran trainer Johnny Lewis of Australia in partnership with former amateur boxing star Winston Hill.
This is a huge boost for Fiji Boxing after a pandemic-blighted doldrums of some 20 months,” Appana said.
“The inclusion of Winston Hill and Johnny Lewis should infuse new energy and bring about an international dimension to Fiji Boxing.”
Lewis has trained former world champions like Jeff Fenech, Kostya Tszyu, Jeff Harding, Joe Bugner, Jeff Malcolm, Paul Briggs and Virgil Hill.
Hill won a bronze medal while representing Fiji at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
Appana said with this new registration, BCF has three active promoters of South Pacific Boxing Promotions and Bula Boxing Promotions being the other two.
“Kiran’s Boxing Promotions was active prior to the COVID onslaught, but is now considered dormant until such time as they make an application to return,” he added
