R.C. Manubhai in Ba has boosted their business through friendly customer service, team work and selling reputable products.

Group chief executive officer, Up­piliappan Gopalan said Ba was where their forefathers arrived and settled in from India in the early 1920’s.

“This is a family-owned business which was founded in 1960. “The business was started by brothers Raojibhai & Manubhai,” he said.

“R.C. Manubhai started off as a hardware and grocery store and the business and today has grown to 11 retail outlets for Hardware and Building materials across the country and a group of associate businesses in the industrial and manufacturing sectors.”

Mr Gopalan said they had three branches in Ba, opposite the bus stand being the flagship and head office for the group with their Ba Shop 2 and Timber Yard on the main street.

“Some of the products from the 1920’s were farming products as that was the majority considering the extent of farming back then,” he said.

Modernisation

He said Ba town had developed a lot and a lot of modernization had taken place.

“Ba used to be a small farming community back then. Seeing our business grow and seeing people accepting the development is amaz­ing,” Mr Gopalan said.
