To play consistently is the only way to remain in the Digicel Premier League, says a local coach.

That was the view of Navua football coach Saiyad Ali after their 1-1 draw against Tailevu/Naitasiri at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, yesterday.

Speaking to SUNsports Ali said they needed to turn their chances into points.

“We have to be consistent. We had a lot of opportunities to score goals but we did not take it,” the disappointed coach said.

“Consistency in scoring goals and keeping possession are vital in our quest to remain in the DPL. We have to score goals.”

He added that Navua had set a target to score goals against Nasinu, in their next match.

“We have mapped out a game plan that will suit our striking force and to our advantage.

“We have to learn to hold onto possession so that we can provide quality balls to our strikers upfront.

“These players have the potential and talent to win big matches but they need to dig deep and stay focused throughout the game.”

Ali said they would work hard during training this week focusing on key areas.
