Rinakama’s Words Drive Hillmen To Victory

The inspiring words of former Flying Fijians forwards coach, Reverend Jioji Rinakama, motivated the Naitasiri rugby players to win their semifinal clash against Nadroga on Saturday.
While had presenting the players’ jerseys on Friday night; he also offered a few words of encouragement.
Speaking to SUNsports after their 25-22 win, Naitasiri captain, Sireli Kaloucava said Reverend Rinakama’s message kept echoing to them even when things got tough.
“We were reminded to fight hard and play for each other and to always remember the Vanua and our supporters,” Kaloucava said.
“The message from him (Reverend Rinakama) sunk in because it has been two years that we have been knocking on that championship trophy.
“Going into the last few minutes with the scores at 22-22 we believed in each other and made sure that we stuck to the game plan.”
Looking ahead to Saturday’s Skipper Fiji Rugby Championship grand final against Nadi, Kaloucava said, they would have to work hard.
“We knew Nadroga was going to be tough but Nadi will be tougher especially playing at their home ground,” he said.
“I’ve reminded the boys to stay humble, put their foot on the ground and keep working hard towards our goal.”
