Dragons Beat Roosters In State Cup Final

Saru Dragons head coach Netava Rokoliwa after their close 12-8 win against Sabeto Roosters at Prince Charles Park on Saturday heaved a sigh of relief when the referee blew the final whistle.
“It was a tough match and we had a plan to execute which we thought would work our way,” Rokoliwa said.
“The boys dominated some phases but they had to work hard to win,” he said.
“Now that, this is done we need to work harder in the next round.”

Rooster came firing and Ilami Susu slotted another penalty to take the lead for the first time 8-6.

Towards the end of the match Rusiate Ratukana of the Dragons had a final laugh with a try in the corner; this sent their fans into frenzy.
Roosters head coach Sivaniolo Varo said: “We were expecting a tough match and it happened.
The Dragons were a better side and we will be grouping to finish the season at the top.
“They are tough team to beat but we have learnt a few things from this match.”
