12 teams from the Eastern zone has confirmed its participation in the inaugural 2022 Weet-bix Raluve trophy competition which is for secondary school girls rugby.

They are divided into four pools.

These teams include Lelean Memorial School, Dilkusha Methodist High School, Sila Central High School, Vunimono High School, Tailevu North College, Levuka Public School and St John’s College.

The Raluve competition which includes two grades; Under 16 and 18, will kick off next weekend for the Eastern and Southern zone.

Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Union president, Solomone Seru, said there has been a great interest from schools in the Tailevu Zone.

“Even schools that did not field teams for Deans, have teams for the Raluve competition,” he said.

“These schools include Naiyala High School, Bau Central College and Wainibuka Secondary School.”

During its launch on July 21 at the Fiji Rugby Union, a total of 77 teams were confirmed to participate.

The competition will run in parallel with the Deans competition in the different zones; Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern.

Meanwhile, the Southern Zone has 23 teams for the Raluve competition.
