Derelict vehicles were placed along near Naboro on the road reserve without any permit from the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA).
Because they posed an imminent threat to the safety of all road users, they were removed at the owner’s cost.
Prior to the removal of the vehicle, the owner was given a chance to remove it voluntarily.
If they failed to do so, all derelict vehicles on the road reserve would be removed and all cost relating to such removal, storage, and all associated costs would be invoiced to the owner.
The authority would not be liable for any damage during the removal of these derelict vehicles.
The Fiji Roads Authority is urging vehicle owners to please take responsibility for their vehicles.
