Sisters Open $20k Eatery Business

Sisters, Shayal and Sheryl Chand opened a $20,000 eatery business, The Rustic Table, at the hot Martintar strip in Nadi. This in collaboration with Ed’s Bar.
“We have been working on different kinds of flavors because for us it’s all homemade, sauces are all home-cooked,” said co-managing director Shayal Chand.
“We try to make everything fresh using all the local ingredients around.”
“Cooking is our passion. It’s all street food which we turned into something different, something unique. The family business first started in Navua on October 10, 2020, moved to Pacific Harbour and now in Nadi.”
“We have an agreement with Ed’s Bar owner John Edwards. The patrons can buy drinks there and purchase food and they can sit inside or outside,” Ms Chand said.
Some of their signature meals include: Classic Chicken Poutine, Caribbean Jerk Chicken, and The Whalers Pizza Burger.
Starters include: Rustic Toasted Ravioli, Louis Fried Chicken, Golgappa Shots, and Tamilian Fried Fish. Burritos: Philly Steak Egg Roll, Afghani Chicken. Grill: Chimichurri Lamb and Lemon Dill Rice, and Rustic Take on Beijing Beef.
The eatery employs eight staff on shift hours. They open from 11am to 11pm.
