Asian National Allegedly Stabbed in City
An Asian national was allegedly stabbed inside a vehicle outside of a supermarket in Suva on Tuesday night. A video which shows the victim jumping out of the moving vehicle with the knife on his chest had been viewed by more than 1200 people on the Fiji Exposed Forum on Facebook yesterday.
Bystanders helped the victim after they heard him crying for help, the man that stabbed him tried to run away but was caught by men at the scene.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the victim was admitted at the Colonial War Mar Memorial Hospital.
“A man in his 40s is in Police custody for allegedly stabbing inside a vehicle outside of a supermarket in Suva on Tuesday night,” Ms Naisoro said.
“The suspect is a crew member of a fishing vessel, the victim who he stabbed is a manager of the same company he works for.”
She said the suspect was still in Police custody as the investigation continues.
