Seven Teams, 4 Schools For Nadroga/Navosa Zone

Seven teams are participating in the Weet-Bix Raluve competition in the Nadroga/ Navosa sub zone this year.
Nadroga/Navosa is one of four sub-zones in the Western Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Union.
Cuvu College, Sigatoka Methodist College and Sigatoka Valley High School have registered a team each for both the Under-16 and Under-18 grade while Navosa Central College has a team in the Under-18 grade.
Nadroga/Navosa zone president Sekove Rasukamaimaleya said they look forward to a competitive year for women in rugby.
The Raluve competition was the missing link in the development of secondary school girls which will guide them to their professional rugby careers.
“Our target is to get as many students to play in schools rugby competition, especially with the introduction of the Raluve competition, as many of the students will be eyeing the new rugby pathway,” he said.
“The zone would be banking on some of the teams to take part in the national finals of the Deans and the Raluve competitions.”
Meanwhile, 77 teams are registered in the Raluve competition from the four divisions with a record of 3100 athletes participating.
