Siblings Strong Bond Reflects Rakhi Teachings

Sharing love and care as brothers and sisters creates a special bond. This Raksha Bandhan, Ashlin Kumar, 8, feels blessed and fortunate to have a brother who meant everything to her.
Ashlin said her brother, Abhinav Kumar, 11, was her protector and gave her a lot of love and affection. She said Abhinav always saved her from all the trouble she caused and he sacrificed a lot of things so that he could make her smile.
Abhinav said her little sister was really caring to him and he would do anything for her happiness. Abhinav gifted her a traditional attire for Raksha Bandhan.
Father, Ashneel Kumar said Ashlin loved traditional clothes and she was very fashionable.
“I was happy to see my daughter leap with joy after Abhinav gave her the gift she deserved,” he said.
Raksha Bandhan celebration Mr Kumar also said they had invited families where they could celebrate this occasion with sweets and spending quality time together.
“We believe in all rituals for Raksha Bandhan.”
“On the day of Raksha Bandhan, brothers and sisters wear new clothes and observe the festival in the presence of their parents, elders and grandparents,” he said.
“The ritual involves lighting a Diya or earthen lamp which represents the fire deity and performing of aarti by the sisters. We followed all of it.”
He said seeing his children grow gave him a proud feeling that he had instilled all the values in them.
“Brothers and sister should always be there for each other.”
“Even though my children are still young and are still learning about life, I know for sure that they will always support each other as they grow older,” he said.
He said he was ecstatic about his children giving respect to their elders and being disciplined.
“I am dedicated and committed to give best education and morals to my children and respecting people is one of the values I have taught them.”
“And this is why Ashlin and Abhinav also respect one another,” he added.
“If parents teach children the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, and appropriate and inappropriate behaviour, it will strengthen the bond between a brother and a sister.”
