Savenaca Narube says Unity Fiji is a clean political party and it does not carry any baggage from Fiji’s tumultuous past.

The party leader was speaking in the Sashi Singh Talking Point Facebook Live interview when he was questioned by a viewer whether the party was planning to sign a partnership with The People’s Alliance.

Mr Narube said Fiji needs a new, visionary, and transformational leader to take the country forward. He also said people wanted to wipe the slate clean from the past.

“The country has come through deep self-inflicted injuries and pain. The people have had enough of that. Fiji has had enough of the old ways of politics, old ways of leadership, and old ways of thinking,” he said.

“We believe that Unity Fiji has a credible economic transformational plan that will revolutionise the fortunes of our people. The people have embraced this new plan and have asked us to reveal the plan to the whole of Fiji.”

“We strongly believe that what the people of Fiji need the most now is a new, clean, and visionary leader who can solve our economic and financial crisis and steer the country to a new Fiji.”

He said if the people believed in the party, it would be the next Government, not the Opposition. Attempts to get questions from the People’s Alliance leader, Sitiveni Rabuka, remained unsuccessful by the time this edition went to the press.
