Rural School Confirmed For Cokes

Nadogo Central College, a remote school in the province of Macuata will travell to Suva to participate in the Coca-Cola Games. College principal Deepak Prasad confirmed yetsreday that 18 athletes who are mostly hostel students have been preparing for over two months.
He said these students would be participating in field and track events.
“The students are excited and each of them have different dreams and aims,” he said.
“We had only asked them to perform to their best and bring glory to the school.”
The students are from the six districts in Macuata, who live far away from their homes.
The last time the school participated at the Coca-Cola Games was in 2019. “Three students who participated then brought one gold medal, one silver and one bronze,” Prasad said.
“Our school is located about 50 kilometres away from Labasa Town and over the years we have done extremely well both in academic and sports.”
He said many ex-scholars are looking forward to supporting the athletes in Viti Levu.
Prasad added that they appreciate the fact that the school is making an effort to allow students to use the opportunity to showcase their sporting talents, which could augur well for their future.
Ticket prices
Grandstand: $45 (for three days) Embankment: $12 per day, Ground: $10 per day. Tickets will be sold on the day of the Games at the HFC Bank Stadium from August 18-20.
Torch relay
Meanwhile, the Powerade national torch relay will be officially launched today at the Coca-Cola’s head office in Laucala Beach from 12pm to 1pm.
