A $5million three-storey building at Gladstone Road in Suva will be completed by February 2023. Owner, Dewan Chand Maharaj said his initial plan was to upgrade the property into a five-storey building but plans changed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 70-year-old property was bought by Mr Maharaj 50 years ago at $750,000.

He rented it out and his last tenant was the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Mr Maharaj said clearing works had already started by its contractor, CHIGES Construction Pte Limited.

Mr Maharaj plans to have long term tenants such as Government ministries. He owns several properties in Suva.

He is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quality Print Ltd. He is a pioneer of the modern printing industry in Fiji with more than 50 years of service to the print industry.

He has been honoured with a number of National awards and citations including the Order of Fiji.

Property manager Devan Prasad said the pandemic had caused a lot of delays because resources were not readily available.
