Carnival Will Promo Local Musical Talents

Music lovers living along the Suva-Nausori corridor will be in for a treat. There will be loads of entertainment from well-known singers, young artists and musical groups as the week-long Procera Music Carnival starts at Valelevu in Nasinu, from August 27 to September 3.

The theme of the carnival is: “Supporting Fijian Artists since 1972”.

Procera Music general manager, Sunil Prasad, said the carnival was to promote local music artists.

“Our main objective is to promote local singers, composers and musicians. The carnival boasts plenty of food stalls, fun rides, and booth spaces for trade shows and more,” Mr Prasad said.

“This will be an eight-day event of music, dance, food, trade shows and entertainment from our local artists.”

“We will have a theme for each night, gospel night, bollywood night and iTaukei night etc.”

Mr Prasad said the focus would be on the new artists.

“We want the new and young artists to showcase their talent during the week-long carnival. The artists who will be performing will get paid,” he said.

“There are a lot of artists who are not given a chance to perform and this will be a good platform to do so.”

“We plan to have 40 stalls, but that will depend on the demand. Those who want to enquire about stalls can contact me on 9372150.”
