Lomary Secondary School Under 16 rugby team defeated Nabua Secondary School 20-15 in their first game of the Vodafone Deans Southern Zone competition at Suva Grammar grounds.
With the school’s withdrawl from the Coca-Cola Games this year, team manager Apisalome Rasoki said their focus was on rugby development.
The Under-16 consists of two under-14 players.
The team has been preparing the past three weeks. They have two grades in the boys’ division; Under 16 & Under 19.
“Interest is high among the students,” Rasoki said.
“They have much to learn and need more time to develop their skills and talents.
“We just want to improve in every game.”
