A New Haven For Coffee Lovers

Coffee lovers will soon be introduced to another thrilling spot for enjoying a cup of coffee or tea complete with pleasant garden scenery.
This follows the groundbreaking ceremony for Lautoka’s Botanical Garden Café by the Minister for Local Government, Premila Kumar, yesterday.
The café, located at the Botanical Garden, is the Lautoka City Council’s second project following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first project the council engaged in was the Namoli Green Night Food Market in February.
Ms Kumar said the council’s investment in the coffee shop came with the intention to enhance the experience at the iconic botanical garden.
The Project
She said the project was discussed and decided by the former special administrators.
Ms Kumar also ensured that no trees would be removed for the development.
“Outdoor seating provisions will not disturb any existing natural environmental features,” said Ms Kumar.
“The design of this coffee shop takes into consideration the safety, security and special needs of all Fijians.
“The coffee shop design has incorporated salient and sustainable features for example robust design using locally available material, the greenhouse concept looks to blend in with the existing environment of the botanical garden.
“Public convenience will also include people with special needs.”
