Votualevu College

Despite not making it to the Western Zone Secondary Schools Vodafone Deans semifinals it has been a great season for the Votualevu College Under-18 side.

Head coach Saimoni Moceiwasa said there were a lot of positives lessons learnt.

“It was the first time for Votualevu College to field a team for the rugby competitions,” he said.

“Even though we did not qualify for the semis, it was a great exposure for the players.

“There was a lot of parental engagement; which was the highlight of our season.

“The boys really enjoyed their games and have a better understanding of how to prepare playing rugby at that level.”

Votualevu College also fielded an Under-18 team in the Weet-Bix Raluve competition.

Meanwhile the four teams that have qualifying for the Under-18 Deans semis for the Western Zone are: Ba Provincial Free Bird Institute, Natabua High School, Cuvu College and Ratu Navula College.

They play their last round of pool games on Saturday at Prince Charles Park,Nadi while the rest of the grades will have its quarterfinal.
