The Kelevi Tabaka coached Natabua Beez have set their sights to improve their performance in local competitions.

The side will compete at the Fiji Bitter Tabadamu 7s, (Kontiki Finance U21 competition) which gets underway at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori today.

Team manager/founder Isoa Macu said the bigger picture is to guide these players to great rugby journeys on and off the field.

They are following the career pathway; national reps took in the same areas such as former Fiji 7s rep Joji Ragamate, Jasa Veremalua, and Metuisela Talebula and Mesake Navugona who took no shortcut in their line of success.

“They believe that life could be a rugby career. We are here to extend beyond rugby where they not only showcase their natural talent but also to improve their livelihoods into a well stable economically home,” he said

He added at the club they emphasise three fundamental ideologies which includes physical, spiritual and mental.

He thanked the Natabua Rugby Ex-Players Association, Natabua Community Policing, Parents and Supporters.

The club was established last year with the objective to align grassroots rugby to the bigger team, Natabua Rugby Club.

Lucky they also landed a few sponsors, like Shipping Services, who assisted them with fares to compete at the Fiji Bitter Savusavu 7s where they reached the semi-final, better their debut tournament at Malomalo 7s in Sigatoka where they bundled out in the pool games.

“We are looking for a full time sponsor that looks after the community. This way it will boost our players not only for rugby but wholesomely, they need to get jobs as well,” he said.

“We thank Fiji Bitter for hosting events.”

“Few names have contributed to our club development programmes: Chew Vai Yee Shopping Center (Training Equipment), Raloka Family (Rugby Kit and Players Welfare), Blessed Provisions (Official Apparel and Players Welfare Sponsor), Melania Malo (Spiritual Development Programme), Kelevi Tabaka (Coach and Club Founder).

The side has the services of Vuki Belo (Kese, Naviti, Yasawa), Pio Dakili (Vuaki, Yasawa), Joseva Tuinacau (Somosomo, Naviti, Yasawa), Poama Mitchell (Togo, Qamea, Cakaudrove) Kitione Kamikamica (Votua, Nadroga), Poseci Koroitamana (Barotu, Ra), Pio Qalica (Nasele, Waidina, Naitasiri) the head boy at the Ba Provincial Freebird Institute, Petero Norokolevu (Kavala, Kadavu) –, Sailasa Seru (Vutia, Rewa), a Year 13 student of Natabua High School.
