Nadi Out To End BOG 25-Winless Jinx

The Viliame Toma coached All in One Builders Nadi Football side is out to end their 25-year old winless jinx.
Nadi last won the Punjas Battle of the Giants tournament in 1996 when they beat Tavua 3-1 at Govind Park, Ba.
The side has not lost any match in this year’s BOG; they face defending champions Rewa in the first semifinal at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Saturday.
The Yako, Nadroga native, Toma, said it will not be easy as they last won the BOG silverware 26 years ago.
But deep within him, the ex-Fiji and Nadi rep believes that this assignment is possible.
“It has been 26 years since our fans have been waiting for the BOG title so we need to end the drought this weekend,” Toma said.
He added that the Delta Tigers’ returning from the Champions League gives them the edge because they are the best team in Fiji.
“This will be a different game altogether. The team (Rewa) is the best team in the country and has quality players. We need to set up sound strategies to encounter them well,” he said.
