Financial Rewards For B.O.G Winners

The Labasa Football Association officials are working on a package to reward the Farmtrac Tractors sponsored- team for winning the 2022 Punjas Battle of the Giants tournament.
Labasa FA president Rayaz Khan confirmed to SUNsports on Sunday after the final that the team would share the $17,000 prize money.
“We will definitely share the prize money but we are yet to confirm the breakdown,” Khan said.
The Babasiga Lions hired the services of former national football captain and coach Tagi Vonolagi as the team’s technical advisor.
Tagi played goalkeeper for Labasa when they hoisted the B.O.G title at Subrail Park in 1997.
The goal was scored by Taniela Tuilevuka, Labasa beat Nadi 1-0 in the final.
Labasa beat Bargain Box Ba 2-0 in the semifinal with the goals scored during the two extra spells to Christopher Wasasala and Edwin Sahayam.
In the final, they took an early lead from an Ashneel Raju goal but Rewa equalised in the 73rd minute to Tevita Waranaivalu.
The winning goal came in the first extra spell to striker France Catarogo.
