Police Investigate Fight Between DAV Boys, MGM Students

A fight between students of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School (MGM) and Dayanand Anglo Vedic (DAV) Boys College has prompted the Ministry of Education and Police to carry out investigations.
It is alleged that the fight between the two schools broke out during a soccer match held at the DAV College grounds in Nabua two weeks ago.
The confrontation was captured on video which was later posted up on social media this week.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the school heads and management were addressed by the Southern Divisional Police Commander Save Vunisa regarding the incident.
Ms Naisoro said a report was lodged and the case was still under investigation. Permanent Secretary for Education, Anjeela Jokhan said she would make a statement after the investigation was completed.
MGM High School principal Sanjay Raman when contacted yesterday refused to comment but said the ministry was carrying out an investigation.
Attempts to get comments from the DAV Boys College principal were unsuccessful when this edition went to the press.
