Alisi Neisulu, 15, Eyes Pearl Spot For Series

Fifteen-year-old Alisi Neisulu has set her eyes for a spot in the Fijian Pearls side as they prepare for the PacificAus sports series in Australia on October 16-23.
The Year 10 student of Adi Cakobau School is the youngest of the 25-member Pearls squad preparing for the series where Fiji will play against Samoa, Tonga and Cook Islands.
The Yavusania, Nadi, lass shares maternal links to Natauloa, Nairai in Lomaiviti.
She is a member of the Western Marines netball club in Nadi where she started playing when she was eight-years-old.
Neisulu was initially selected to the Under-21 squad after the PacAusSports Netball Fiji Youth Championship that was played at the Vodafone Arena, Suva, in April. She played for the Nadi team.
She plays goal shooter, goal attack and wing attack.
“I’m so grateful for this opportunity,” she said.
“I know there are a lot of competition in the positions I play in but I am hoping to secure a place and play at the PacificAus Series next month.”
The only child acknowledged the support of her parents especially her mother Adi Lewatamata Tuisawau.
The series will be followed by the Nations Cup in Singapore in December.
The PacificAus Sports Series is an initiative of the PacificAus Sports in Partnership with Netball Australia and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The inaugural PacificAus Sports Netball Series was held in March where the Pearls finished second behind Tonga Tala.
