Sabeto College To Debut In Schools’ IDC

Following their win on Saturday, Nadi Secondary School girls champions Sabeto College will debut at the Fiji Secondary Schools inter-district Championship at Lautoka’s Churchill Park from September 28-30.
The Sereana Saukuru captained side won the schools’ competition following their winning spree against Lautoka Central College 4-2 and Nadroga Arya College 3-2.
Skipper Saukuru scored all four goals against LCC and was instrumental in their win against NAC.
Team mate Navu Kelerayani scored the fastest goal in less than a minute. Their other goals came from Ateca Botitu, and Saukuru.
Coach Jackline Rani said: “This is history for the school as for the first time, our girls football team will take part in the IDC. It’s a privilege for our students and also Sabeto College is getting recognition as far as the girl’s tournament is concerned.”
Meanwhile, Korovuto College Under 19 boys has qualified for the IDC after beating Swami Vivekananda College in the penalty shoot outs.
Nadi Football president Max Chetty congratulated all the teams that have qualified.
In the previous years two teams qualified for the Fiji secondary IDC but this year only the winners will qualify.
Korovuto College U17 also qualified from South West play-offs when they won the Nadi district Championship over SVC in the final, they also won the South West play off against Cuvu College and Tilak High School.
