Students of Seaqaqa Primary School in Macuata had a reason to smile as the school received its Walesi Setup Initiative.

To top things off, the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, visited the school on Monday and handed over the Walesi setup box and flat screen television personally.

School manager Lakhan Kumar, after receiving the donation, praised the Government for its steadfast commitment in children’s electronic needs.

Mr Lakhan said Government had always prioritised children’s education as a medium of promoting technological advanced students.

Mr Bainimarama said the Walesi network had connected around 580 villages, communities and schools around the country.

This is part of Walesi’s ongoing works to bridge the digital divide for Fijians, and the younger generation was at its forefront.

Headboy Nazil Hussein said the new resources would enhance the students’ knowledge on current affairs.

The Prime Minister’s last visit to school was in 2016 during an official Government visit.
