Gollings: I’ll Look At Other Players To Replace Rasaku

A few players have been eyed by Fiji Airways Fijian Sevens men’s head coach Ben Gollings to replace Kaminieli Rasaku who has joined French Top 14 club Bayonne on Tuesday.
A group of fans and families were at Nadi International Airport to welcome the team.
“Very quickly, we got to move towards where the team is going to go and what’s next,” said Gollings.
“We have built a squad with the likes of Manueli Maisamoa, who are among a number of others who are within the wider squad that we can bring back.
“That’s been the whole point with us this year.
“We have developed a wider squad, so it’s great for the likes of someone like Rasaku who can go and experience French rugby.
“But we’ll keep building here, we have got players and we look forward to adding to that as well.”
Gollings said the welcome was absolutely fantastic.
“We are able to enjoy this experience with the Fijian community. It’s been a long trip but it’s really exciting to be back.
Tuwai stays humble
Veteran halfback Jerry Tuwai said he is not the greatest sevens player of all time.
Under his belt, Tuwai has won two Olympics gold medals, three HSBC World Sevens Series and one RWC Sevens. He was also named World Rugby Sevens Player of the Decade.
“I’m not the greatest player in Fiji or in the world, as’ people are saying.
“If I played for another 100 years, then I could be the greatest player in the world but I am not,” Tuwai said.
“I cannot say that I’m the greatest.
“Others that have played before us like Waisale Serevi, Eric Rush, Tomasi Cama Snr, Vili Satala, Dan Norton, Scott Curry, Tim Mikkelson, and Santiago Gomez Gora who have paved the way for us.
“I cannot be greater than them or greater than any player in Fiji or in the world.
“I’m just me. I’m just doing my best. I put my country on the map and to bring happiness to the people.”
