Bucalevu Causes Upset

Southern Zone Under-16 girls champion Nasinu Secondary was defeated by Bucalevu Secondary School in the Weet-Bix Raluve quarterfinal in a newly introduced Raluve schoolgirls’ competition.

Southern Zone Under-16 girls champion Nasinu Secondary was defeated by Bucalevu Secondary School in the Weet-Bix Raluve quarterfinal in a newly introduced Raluve schoolgirls’ competition.

They were defeated by Bucalevu Secondary School, 5-0, at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori this afternoon.

BSS teacher Akata Samuri said: “We came with a mission and this is it. Most of these girls are in Suva for the first time and we’re glad to reach this far.

“We will return to Taveuni and be back for the semifinals on October 1.”

Samuri acknowledged the support of the school, old scholars and parents and teachers association.
