Labasa Muslim College On Comeback Track

Labasa Muslim College U-19 aims to win Fiji Secondary School Inter-District Championship (IDC) organised by Fiji Secondary School Football Association in Lautoka next week. (September 28-30)
This was after they beat Labasa College, Dreketi Central College, Seaqaqa Central College in the pool games and then tamed LC for the second time in the Northerns schools zone last week.
College principal Shanil Dutt said he was happy with the performance of their side which is made up of 20 players.
In 2016 LMC lost in the IDC semi-final and was the runner up in 2018 after losing from Tavua College.
“We don’t have any district rep; they are all local boys from Labasa,” Dutt said.
“We also don’t have a sponsor; but efforts put in by the teachers and the school management has given the students the opportunity to play.”
He thanked the teachers who are also coaching the boys.
LMC is in pool one with Natabua High School, Vashist Muni and DAV Suva.
