Tall timber Sevuloni Mocenacagi got his contract terminated a year ago due to his discipline on the field.

He missed the Olympics but Fiji Airways 7s coach Ben Gollings gave a second chance to redeem himself.

As a champion runner with such a huge frame, Mocenacagi did turn hearts at Cape Town.

Coach Gollings, referring to Mocenacagi, said: “This year has been an interesting year for us. There was a lot to do in a very short period of time.

“He has taken the opportunity and he knew that it was an opportunity he could grasp and he’s done that and he’s been fantastic for us.

“He’s a fantastic player. And I’m sure we’ve not seen the last of him. There’s more to come.”

Gollings added that Mocenacagi is very capable both as a forward and as a back line player.

“He is an X-factor, a bit like a Jo Talacolo, he is incredibly tall, he can move that he’s got the footwork like a winger.

“He’s a potent weapon to having in a team and to have that balance. And for him to be on this side was fantastic.”
