NZ Medical Team Ends North Mission On A High

The Youth with a Mission (YWAM) Aoateroa Ships medical team ended their second outreach in Fiji on a high note after 1868 Fijians were provided critical dental, basic medical treatment and diagnostic assessment.
Despite it being the second outreach in Fiji, this was the first time the group had assisted people living in maritime communities of the Northern Division.
They provided oral health and other medical services to villagers in Kavewa, Rabi, Druadrua Island, Taveuni and Visoqo in Namuka District.
The Following Treatment Was Conducted:
- 188 people seen by our medical team
- 207 Dental Patients
- 115 Restorations
- 411 Tooth Extractions
- 553 people were given a toothbrush + toothpaste z 394 people received oral health education
The charity group from New Zealand posted on its official Facebook account ‘YWAM Aoateroa Ships’ on September 12 that the second outreach was extra special for the team.
This was because the core group of the medical team had served in isolated communities in the Pacific for the first time.
“We’ve served nearly a dozen villages, both coastal and on small islands in the Namuka District of northern Fiji,” the group stated
