Let’s Go Local: Yasawa, Taveuni For Captain Cook Cruise Skipper

Captain Nathan Takele hails from the beautiful province of Nadroga and shares maternal links to Yasawa. He is the Head Captain for the Spirit of the Pacific, a Captain Cook Cruise vessel.
The 48-year-old said working in the tourism industry was a life changing experience for him. Every day he gets to meet different people from all races and backgrounds and “this is a blessing”, he said.
“I have worked for the Captain Cook Cruise Fiji for more than 4 years now and it is overwhelming.”
“Before becoming the Captain, I was working for different hotels around Fiji,” Mr Takele said.
“I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to master the art of navigating and welcoming passengers onboard every day.”
“It’s a job that I once dreamt about when I was young, now, I’m enjoying and reaping what I had sown.”
“Despite the struggles and obstacles with the right mindset you will achieve anything,” Mr Takele said.
