Mum’s Prayers For Daughter With Heart Disease Answered

Litiana Marama prayed every hour for the Lord to give her daughter, Raijeli Tiko, a new lease of life after finding out she had congenital heart disease.
Ms Marama felt the world had failed her after the doctor at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) diagnosed her two-year- old daughter with congenital heart disease.
The Tailevu native said she took Raijeli to the Nausori Health Centre for a bad cough, but she was then referred to the CWMH.
She was worried when told that four doctors would do a medical health review on Raijeli.
“At the CWMH she underwent a full medical health checkup. After which I was advised by the doctor that Raijeli’s heart rate was higher than a child of her age,” the Tailevu native said.
“Four doctors conducted A medical health check up on Raijeli. This was on a Tuesday.
“The following day we were asked to go back to for an x-ray and she was diagnosed with congenital heart disease.”
“We were then referred to the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani. They gave us advice and told us not to worry as our daughter would be given free surgery.”
“If it wasn’t for the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani my husband and I would have had to pay thousands of dollars for the surgery.”
Raijeli is the 61st child to undergo congenital heart disease treatment at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital.
