Twin sisters from Perth, Australia Helen and Roanne Stewart have Fiji close to their hearts. They were among the thousands of tourists that flocked the Port Denarau Marina in Nadi on Sunday onboard the Carnival Splendor cruise line.

The vessel berthed at the Suva Port on Saturday and was the first cruise ship in Suva after two years.

While departing the marina, the twins took back with them the Fijian blue and gold $7 note as souvenirs. It was a journey which started from Seattle in the United States of America, then to Hawaii before arriving at our shores.

Helen is a human resources officer while her sister, Roanne is employed at the gold mines. For Helen, returning to Fiji had been an amazing experience for her, to come back and support the country’s local communities.

“This is the first cruise we’ve done since Australia locked us down in March 2020 and we are just so happy to be back in Fiji and support the lo- cal communities,” she said.

“We stopped over at Natadola, at a store and in that way we helped the local communities.”

“The cruise ship left Seattle and is coming back to Sydney so we thought why not be part of the cruise and plus we have been to Fiji before so why not come back.”

She said they loved every bit of their visit back to Fiji.

“The people are just so ever friendly,” she added.

The twins were also accompanied by their two friends.

They will spend four days out at sea before returning to Sydney on Friday.
