Fijian Couple Owns Taxation & Accounting Firm In NZ

A Fijian-born couple have been making good opportunities in New Zealand. Ravi and Arti Singh, owners of award-winning Singh and Associates Limited, have taken stock on how far they’ve come.
The company’s accounting and taxation services firm based in Rukuhia, Hamilton won the 2022 MYOB award based on how it helped clients recover from the two years of COVID-19.
In 2021, the firm won the MYOB 2021 Partner Award, in the category of NZ Accounting Practice of the Year.
Growth Of The business
From the 200 clients that came with the business when he took over in 2009, Mr Singh now has around 1100 clients today.
From modest beginnings, Mr Singh has established his business in a new commercial building that he owns.
“In 2020, there was a need to have more space for our staff and more storage so in 2021, my own purpose building was completed and we moved in November, 2021,” he said.
About Mr and Mrs Singh
Mr Singh was born in Levuka.
He is the son of Uday Singh, a health inspector and Bina Singh, a school teacher at Marist Convent.
Mr Singh attended Samabula Primary School and Jai Narayan College, before he migrated in 2000 to further his education at Hamilton Boys High School.
At Waikato Institute of Technology, he graduated from business and accounting studies in 2004.
Mrs Singh is from Yalava, Nadroga.
Her family migrated in 1986 to Tonga, before they settled in New Zealand. She at- tended Auckland University of Technology.
