Marist, Grammar In U17 Deans Final

It will be a thrilling Vodafone Super Deans Trophy Under-17 final when Marist Brothers High School faces rivals Suva Grammar School in Lautoka, next Saturday.
In a one-sided semi-final Marist Brothers thrashed a hapless Ratu Kadavulevu School side 32-3.
The Flagstaff-based school will be favourites going into the final as they have been dubbed the school’s ‘dream team’.
In the first semi-final, two disallowed tries did not deter Suva Grammar from beating Queen Victoria School 14-9 at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, this morning.
Grammar took an early 7-0 lead with a converted try to full-back Ratu Isikeli. QVS full-back Mika Vueti kicked over two penalty kicks as they trailed 7-6 at halftime.
Wrong options from Grammar saw QVS got a kickable penalty as Vueti converted as they led 9-7 for the first time.
Grammar fought back and twice had tries disallowed for knock-ons. Continuous pressure from the Grammar forwards saw Josese Rogoca stretched over for a try after Robert Susau fell short. The conversion went over for a handy 14-9 win.
Speaking to SUNsports, team coach Jim Rakisa said his boys executed their set pieces well.
“This week we discussed about executing our set pieces well and to make sure that we kept communicating,” he said.
“The boys stuck to the game plan, we had patience and our set pieces was good. Hats off to the boys. QVS is a good team so we have to play smart rugby.
Now we shift our focus to whatever team qualifies for the final next week Saturday but it won’t be easy.”
