Tabuya, Narayan Questioned For Alleged Breach Of Electoral Law

Two provisional candidates of The People’s Alliance have been questioned by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) for breaching electoral laws.
They are Lynda Tabuya and Sajal Narayan.
This follows a complaint lodged by FijiFirst against the PA and its provisional candidates to the Supervisor of Election Mohammed Saneem for allegedly breaching the electoral laws.
Party deputy leader Manoa Kamikamica confirmed Mr Narayan’s house was raided by officers from the FICAC. Mr Kamikamica said Ms Tabuya was taken in for questioning by FICAC officers.
“In the matter of complaints against provisional candidate, Mr Narayan we understand he has not received a letter from Mr Saneem,” he said.
“But he has been questioned by FICAC on September 29 and 30 so again we ask, where is the due process.
“When Mr Sayed-Khaiyum gave that press conference on 20 September, he appeared to be asking for the full force of the law to apply and gave the impression that in his view the law had been violated,” he said.
Mr Kamikamica has asked for due diligence to be carried out.
