For former Saint Thomas High School student Aliti Tuitubou Biumaiwai, being surrounded by her family has always been her biggest inspiration.

The 26-year-old mother’s love and admiration for earrings prompted her to get into making unique earrings made out of polymer clay four months ago and named her Lautoka-based business Hannah’s Klay.

Her family was always by her side supporting her every decision.

She is from Solovola Village in the District of Ravitaki in Kadavu.

Interestingly, Ms Biumaiwai also runs her cake business known as Helena’s Cake.

She said after witnessing her husband, Raymond Biumaiwai work hard to make ends meet for their family, she thought about doing some work that would rake in extra income for the family.

“I thought of doing something to support him with our bills, rent and other needs,” she said.

“I learnt how to make these types of earrings from my sister who also makes polymer clay earrings.”

“My youngest daughter is Hannah, thus the name Hannah’s Klay while I used my eldest daughter’s name, Helena for Helena’s Cake business.”
