The Naitasiri Secondary School Under-16 girls team had a lot to learn despite their 12-10 loss to Sigatoka Methodist College in the Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy final at Churchill Park, Lautoka, today.

Team captain Etelia Nakalevu said they had anticipated a tough encounter but the experience gained is something valuable for them.

“To be honest it was a tough match for us,” she said.

“We did not settle early in the match, we tried our best to score a come back win but it did not happen,” she said.

“Coming this far to be the final is a testament of its own. The team did a lot of hard work.”

They had lost 10-5 to Nasinu Secondary School 10-5 in the Southern Zone final.

“From that final we did get our acts together but we fell short. We’ll learn from this and come back much stronger next year,” Nakalevu added.
