Swami Vivekananda College was full of Fiji Day activities, as teachers and students celebrated Fiji’s 52nd independence day.

The Fiji Day celebrations were made more special with students showing up to school in various cultural attires reflecting Fiji’s rich cultural diversity.

A school assembly was also organised to raise awareness and to show gratitude to the teachers, students and to celebrate the achievements of Fiji.

School principal, Rajesh Krishna said the services of teachers and their contributions to Fiji’s education are acknowledged.

he said teachers play an important role in developing students who will become leaders in the future.

“To show appreciation to the students and teachers, the school had sponsored two cakes per form to assist students in organising their respective form parties.”

Meanwhile, the major highlights of the school programme were performances by the students and teachers to make the day memorable.
